I'm Back!

Okay...so after a LONG hiatus, I'm back to the blog.  There were numerous events (including my computer crashing twice and several trips) that kept me from getting back on track with my blog last spring.  I'm not even going to try to update on what happened between when I stopped writing last year and now.  There's simply too much--such as my family visiting, a trip to Yemen, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with my mom, climbing Rainier over the summer in Seattle, and heading back to Muscat after spending my 24th birthday celebrating in London.  

So here I am on year two...and I'm loving it more than I ever.  I am currently teaching three 8th grade classes and two 7th grade classes.  I taught most of the current 8th graders last year, which is proving to be a wonderful experience.  I love watching them grow as readers and writers, and as the interesting people they are.  

I moved into a new apartment with a beautiful balcony that looks out onto the mountains.  Given the gorgeous weather here in the winter (think of the beautiful sunny Seattle summer days and you'll get a good idea of what it feels like), I've been spending a great deal of time out on the balcony.  

I will attempt to update the blog weekly...but I'm not making any promises.  That being said, I have a few entries I will do right away, as the events have already past and are most certainly blog worthy.
